I grew up in a small town in Massachusetts and was, as a childhood friend described me, a “rough and tumble” kid who never had much interest in school. Somehow, after a lot of twists and turns, I randomly ended up in graduate school in Charlottesville, Virginia.

I’ve been a freelance writer and editor for over 20 years, and was a reporter and editor for The Hook for nearly a decade. I now run a local news website called the DTM, take on freelance projects, and handle communications and social media for a local non-profit.
